Hello,
I’m suffering from blogger’s block. Have those of you who also blog ever had it? Can you recommend a cure? I made a commitment to blog every single Thursday and so I’m writing this now because I like to keep my word, even if it’s only a promise to myself.
I just got home from a business trip and my brain is fried. I was going to write what I hoped would be an honest and intriguing post about all the interesting people I saw at the airport. Though there were many fascinating subjects, I can’t seem to make my fingers type up a single thing about any of them.
My word count is already over 100 so I think I’ll allow myself to end now. Would love to hear your thoughts about writer’s block, blogger’s block, or anything at all, really.
Next week’s post will be much, much better… I hope. And if you’re terribly disappointed in me for this entirely insufficient post, please take a moment to look at one I’m actually proud of. It was the day of the publication of my first novel. I decided to be honest about why I wrote my book for you: http://www.patriciamann.me/for-you/
Much love to you, especially because you read this pathetic post when I did almost nothing to promote it and actually advised against reading it on Twitter and in my Facebook writing group.
xoxo,
Patricia

I was in the DFW airport a number of years ago and I saw a woman (with a lot of keys on a chain hanging from her belt) eating a greasy burger in one of the airport restaurants wearing a t-shirt that read “Bite Me.” She is now a character in my novel, Thin Rich Bitches! Those characters from the airport may just make it into a future piece!
All I have to say to those of you who commit to weekly blogs: RESPECT! I am not made of your stock and I bow to your commitment. Go easy on yourself, you overachiever! And you realize the quickest way to get us to read something is to tell us not to. 😉
Janet, that is hysterical! I can so picture that woman, and you’re right the airport provides great material for new character development! Thanks for that reminder. 🙂
Shelly, thank you! Planning to start going easier on myself finally, really. This post is a start!
